Executive Team
Management consists of an Executive Team with extensive experience in providing strong leadership and direction. Members of the Executive Team include:




Richard Hodge   Director
As Director, Richard leads CAE Professional Services in Australia providing simulation-enabled decision support to help clients achieve clarity in complex decision making. Richard brings 25 years experience in multi-disciplinary thinking, national security policy development, enterprise systems analysis, and experimentation and decision support systems. He has designed many strategic simulations that provide "learning-based" approaches for clients to experience the future, and make more informed decisions. His experience covers public and private organisations in Defence, health, banking and finance and transport sectors. Richard is currently completing his thesis for a PhD research program in the application of systems thinking and systems engineering for strategic planning in national security organisations. He has a Bachelor of Arts (Pure Mathematics and Linguistics), from Adelaide University and a Graduate Diploma in Strategic Studies, from the Joint Services Staff College, Canberra.



Evan Harris   Chief Technology Officer
Dr. Evan holds a PhD in Computer Science from The University of Melbourne and was a Lecturer and Research Fellow. In addition to his role as Chief Technology Offier, he is currently providing project management and technical leadership on a number of projects at the Defence Science and Technology Organisation, Australia, and has provided expert advice on software related legal proceedings to the White SW Computer Law firm.



Nick Howden   Business Development Manager
Nick Howden is the Business Development Manager at CAE Professional Services. Nick has worked with several Australian companies in utilising intelligent decision support, Modelling & Simulation and other techniques to add value to Defence processes and operations. Nick has a B.A. and B.Sc.(Hons) from Melbourne University in Computer Science and Linguistics. His earliest work in the Defence space was building intelligent software with the Australian Artificial Intelligence Institute, which was followed by a stint in the UK with Blackwell's online. Nick was one of the first to join Agent Oriented Software in Melbourne in the late 1990's, and helped this company grow to 28 people with subsidiaries and customers in the UK and USA. Nick left AOS to run Intendico, a consultancy focussed on Defence R&D, which then led to his current position with CAE Professional Services.



David Ritchie   Defence Analysis Lead
David holds a Bachelor of Engineering from Monash University and has over 18 years experience in the IT Industry. David has worked in software engineering roles ranging from communications level and object orientated software development through to project management of large mission critical software development projects and organisation based consultancy roles ranging across multiple projects for large companies.

CAE Professional Services Australia harnesses the skills of leading industry experts in simulation, decision support, artificial intelligence and agent technologies, demonstrating world leading knowledge and expertise. This is now more important than ever given CAE's expansion plans. Other staff within the organisation includes: expert Project Managers; Senior Research Scientists with international reputations; expert Software Engineers; Network Engineers / Network Administrators; Graduates; and Support Staff (e.g. Finance, Marketing, Office Administration). CAE Professional Services Australia strongly supports the recruitment of Australian University graduates with degrees from suitable courses (e.g. Software Engineering, Computer Science). To that end, has a close relationship with tertiary institutions, particularly with the University of Melbourne, Australia. The University of Melbourne runs a fully accredited software engineering course, where key senior staff continue to provide advice on various course structures and research areas.
